Responsible Care

Responsible Care is an international undertaking by the chemical industry to strive for continuos improvements in health, environment and safety.

It started in Canada in 1985 with the purpose to improve the reputation of chemical industry. The concept is widely spread and deeply rooted in the chemical industry, and now exists in more than 40 countries. The purpose is to increase society’s trust and to create an understanding for the chemical industry’s business. Responsible Care is an ethic management tool and a voluntary commitment. The key words are moral ethics and transparency. In the end of 1999, the plastic and chemical industry started the programme for Responsible Care through collaboration with Kemikontoret. With our values as a foundation and our long-term commitment towards our customers and management, Kemi-Intressen has taken on to implement the guiding principles of Responsible Care in our business.
